Venture Medical Training, in association with the Indo Trek team, are running a further series of training programmes for the Global Rescue Network Emergency Response Service and also the Indonesian Motorcross Association.
Drawing on many years of experience in active mountain rescue and practical medical work, the team will return each year to deliver wilderness emergency training to Indonesian doctors who volunteer for GRN.
The team will be introducing/updating doctors to new techniques and equipment in the specialist area of remote emergency medical care. In addition, the team will introduce GRN to tried and tested rope work techniques for emergency situations. This training is always a two way process with the Venture Medical team taking the opportunity to develop further skills and knowledge of rescue and medical work in the harsh environment of the mountain and jungle regions of Indonesia.
On completion of the training courses on Java with GRN, the team will be flying across to Sumatra to train professional motor cross guides that form part of the Indonesian Motorcross Association. These members regularly take part in the Paris to Dakar rally and often guide tourists through remote parts of Indonesia in pursuit of their sport.
Further updates and information will be posted on both the Indo Trek and Venture Medical websites and Facebook sites over the coming months. Keep checking for updates!
